Infused have taken a 2-0 victory over VEXSTAR (16-6 de_nuke, 16-9 de_mirage) to win Multiplay's i53 event at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, UK and claim the £2,000 first place prize.
The 32-team group stage kicked off on Friday and saw most of the top seeds win their three BO1 group games with the only real upset coming from Group G where ALL4, a relatively unknown lineup, managed to topple Tom "vertiGo" Rockliffe's TLR and take the higher seed going into the playoffs.
Saturday morning brought the top two teams from each group into a double-elimination bracket which was played out completely except for the lower final, consolidation final, and the grand final which were left until Sunday.

Ben "r0m" Smith's VEXSTAR were the first team to book their place in Sunday's grand final after managing to overcome the top two seeds, fm-eSports (16-2 de_cache, 12-16 de_inferno, 16-12 de_nuke) and Infused (16-11 de_cache, 14-16 de_mirage, 16-10 de_nuke), much to the surprise of most viewers.
The following morning saw Sam "RattlesnK" Gawn's fm-eSports take down TLR in the lower final (16-9 de-cache, 16-4 de_dust2) but they weren't to make the final this time around as Infused took them down in the following consolidation final (12-16 de_mirage, 16-9 de_cache, 16-10 de_season).
James "redSNK" Littlewood's Infused kept up their good form, carrying it through to the grand final where they managed to take down VEXSTAR with ease (16-6 de-nuke, 16-9 de_mirage), claiming the i53 title and the £2,000 cheque to go with it. Insomnia 53Best of 3 VexstaR
